National voting coming up. Are you ready?
Did you register for voting this weekend? It is not too late!
The national elections are coming up in 2014. This means that all South Africans have a say in who will be in control of the government. Don’t miss out to place your vote because it really matters. Each vote counts toward the political party you support.
You can still register at your local Municipal Electoral Offices. Here are the details of the Rustenburg offices:
Address: Old Municipal Building (opposite NG Kerk), corner of Fatima Bhayat & Beyers Naude Drive, Rustenburg.
Tel: 014 590 3666
Please note that to register at the Municipal Electoral Offices you need to make an appointment.
Here are the important documents you need to apply for registration. South African green bar-coded ID book, smartcard ID or Temporary Identity Certificate (TIC) if you don’t have an ID book. By law, you must apply in person (no online or email registrations are permitted).
If you are unsure if you are registered and where you are registered there is a way you can check your registration status, you can:
- Send an SMS with your ID number to 32810;
- Check your voter registration details online;
- Call the call centre on 0800 11 8000 (toll-free from a landline);
- Check at your voting station during a registration weekend; or
- Check at your local Municipal Electoral Office during office hours.
Remember, voting is open to all South Africans above the age of 18. Be sure to vote for the party you truly support by heart. Make sure that the party you vote for is the one you want to see leading South Africa. A mistake many people make is to criticise the government and the leading party without casting their vote to make a difference. Do not miss this opportunity to cast your vote.
