That struggle with intrusive thoughts of the event, nightmares or flashbacks, avoidance of reminders of the incident that include problems such as sleep, difficulties, angry outburst, begin easily statured or having difficulty concentrating, fatigue or pain.
Then you are suffering from PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder).
Although research revealed that less dramatic life experiences can also cause PTSD. Many of these disturbing life experiences take place throughout childhood and can include hurtful experiences with parents or peers.
All this happens because the experience was disturbing that it disrupted the information processing system of the brain. Our system’s causing the memory to be stored with negative emotions, physical sensations and thoughts/beliefs, therefore our past poisoning our present.
That’s where EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) can help. EMDR is a comprehensive, integrative psychotherapy approach for effective trauma treatment to an improvement in mental health functioning. EMDR therapy is recommended for children, adolescents and adults with PTSD. All negative disturbing memories are reprocessed.
As an EMDR practitioner, Sandra strive to achieve the most effective and efficient treatment effects while maintaining client safety, also to incorporate new skills, behaviours and beliefs about self and to respond adaptively in the current context of anyone’s lives.
