“Sat 23 March at 03:38 a white Toyota LDV, HRP 308 GP, came crashing through my nice new fence destroying garden furniture and a nice tree. Driver ran away and left one passenger, highly intoxicated on the scene. I phoned the SAPS. They would not come out because there were no injuries they told me” Says Tinus Coetzee. “One of my female kitchen workers was robbed about 15:30 on the Naauwpoort road by two men (one was armed)” says Kobus de Klerk. The men was armed but one suspect was apprehended by the SAPS near Hunters Rest.
On 31 March 2013 Albert Tradeaux had intruders in his yard around 01h30. At this stage it has not been established if anything has been stolen but this is the 5th fence to be cut in two days.
All these reports are certain to cause alarm. We advise all residents of the Nauuwpoort area and those living out on the R24 road to take extra precaution as it seems that crime has been on the rise lately. Make sure that all security measures are on standard and be sure to have emergency numbers on speed dial. It is important to be extra careful these days. Please be on your guard and warn anyone you know in the area. It is far better to be cautious than to be in danger.
