Hyundai’s new Veloster
Hyundai Released their new model the Veloster. A brand new edition to the Hyundai range, the Veloster is for the first time released in 2013, there was no car like this in the Hyundai range. Bringing a new concept in a car, the Veloster combines the style of a coupé with the functionality of a hatchback. The Veloster brings a sporty look to a practical car.
The 1.6 litre petrol engine of the Veloster provides 103kW of power and 167Nm of torque. It has been tested to deliver a top speed of 201 Km/hour. The innovative engine of the Veloster paves the way forward for other Hyundai models, by being the first vehicle in the range to have a GDi powered engine introduced to South Africa. The system injects atomised fuel into the cylinders at high pressure to provide maximum power and efficiency.
A car has to be well built from every single perspective. That means paying as much attention to safety as style and design. Safety is a top priority for Hyundai and it’s been given close attention throughout the Veloster, in the form of a comprehensive airbag system as standard. 6 Airbags help to bring ease of mind, so that in the time of need you will be protected as safe as possible.
The Veloster certainly presents beauty for the eye and promises to be something unique, to be an amazing driving experience with the newest technology. A hands free Bluetooth interface allows music to be streamed and phone calls to be made and received hands-free using your Bluetooth- compatible external device. At a starting price of R 259,900.00 for the 1.6 GDI manual, you will surely get what you are paying for. Keep an eye out as we will be doing a hands on review in the near future.
