Imprisoned for Charity
Let it be known that the people of Rustenburg care. On Friday 25 October 2013 CANSA hosted their annual Jail ‘n Bail fundraiser. Participants from local businesses and schools were locked up in a ‘cell’ and treated as convicts. They then had to raise their own bail money.
“I always love to help raise funds for a good cause. This fundraiser was especially fun and it is definitely worth the wait to collect money for CANSA” says Danie Flemming from Rusties, a participant or “convict” for this year’s fundraiser.
Nearly R27 000 was raised at this event, but according to Miemie Nel this is far from their target. CANSA has a target of R130 000. “We can see that the economy is dramatically down, but we would still love to thank everyone that participated and everyone that was so generous to donate to our cause”.
If you would like to help CANSA or know of anyone that would like to donate some funds please contact Miemie at 082 520 8444. We hope that next year the “convicts” of Rustenburg will return, bringing even more funds for charity.
