This animated adventure is set during the fictional prehistoric Croodacious era where the creatures and landscapes are unlike anything our world has ever known. Mother Nature is still experimenting and has yet to invent the flora and fauna we know today.
One day an earthquake strikes this volcanic world and a caveman named Grug (Nicolas Cage) and his family are forced to leave everything behind in search of a new home. As they set out into the wide dangerous world, they meet up with a forward-thinking nomad called Guy (Ryan Reynolds) whose progressive view of the world rankles with Grug whose view of things is far more traditional and stuck in the past.
However, things get worse for Grug when it turns out that with every day that their journey progresses, his oldest daughter Eep (Emma Stone) and Guy are falling for one another.
