Movie review: Epic
It seems as if animated movies are really taking their place in the movie industry. Animated movies are becoming more spectacular and even more creative. Lately many animated features have been populating like mushrooms. One of these features that I have been looking forward to is Epic. EPIC is a 3D CG adventure comedy that reveals a fantastical world unlike anything you have experienced before.
From the creators of ICE AGE and RIO you can only expect good things. Epic tells the story of an ongoing battle between the forces of good, who keep the natural world alive, and the forces of evil, who wish to destroy it. When a teenage girl finds herself magically transported into this secret universe, she teams up with an elite band of warriors and a crew of comical, larger-than-life figures, to save their world.
This might sound just like another ordinary story with a boring plotline and no original content, but you would be greatly surprised. Epic has a incredibly rich and creative storyline filled with twists and turns. On various occasions I found myself on the edge of my seat. I also instantly fell in love with the characters of the movie.
As for the graphical effects and animation, all I can say is: absolutely spectacular. In my opinion Epic has the best graphics I have ever seen in a animated movie. From the way what leaves rattle to the rich colours move. Every ripple on the water and every move that a character makes is simply amazing. Along with that comes the music that also adds to this incredible adventure.
Epic certainly rises to its name. A amazing adventure filled with whim and action with a touch of silly characters and great humour.
Visual and audio effects: 8/10
Storyline: 7/10
Entertainment value: 9/10
This movie gets a general rating of 8/10 and we will strongly recommend it. It is a great film to wach with the entire family.
