N4 at the Kloof off-ramp accident
On 30 May 2013, at about 21:00, police attended the scene of an accident on the N4 road next to the Kloof off-ramp. A White Mercedes Truck and a Black City Golf were involved in the accident. Allegedly the driver of the truck who was on his way to Pretoria heard a loud noise and lost control of the truck. He immediately stopped and noticed that he was involved in an accident with the black City Golf. The 36-year-old driver of the truck died on the scene. A Culpable Homicide is being investigated.
Follow speed limits. These limits are set by the government for your safety. Never drink and drive. Concentrate on the road and do not get distracted by cell phones, food, co-passengers, music etc. Also do not let distractions along the route affect your concentration. Always wear your seat belt. We all know these basic safety regulations when we are driving, but sometimes neglect them. They are all there for your safety so always keep them in mind. If you follow these tips on a daily basis, you will develop a good driving habit.
Always expect the unexpected and be aware that we all make mistakes sometimes. The other driver may forget to indicate, or to look to see if you are nearby. If you have anticipated this may happen, it will not be a surprise. One could say that you need to think for the other drivers as well.
