Rustenburg police recover a stolen vehicle

On Monday, 10 June 2013 at about 09:00 in the morning, the North West Flying Squad Unit members were patrolling around Rustenburg when they picked up a signal of a vehicle which was reported stolen. The police officers followed a signal and spotted the vehicle abandoned at one of the streets in Rustenburg North.

It is alleged that upon noticing the police vehicle, a boyfriend and his girlfriend from the suspected abandoned car fled to a nearby block of flats. After an investigation, it was established that the vehicle was stolen during the early hours of Monday, 10 June 2013 at Meriting in Extension 1 near Rustenburg.

The suspect (21) will appear soon at the Rustenburg Magistrates’ Court on charges of possession of Suspected Stolen Goods. The other suspect escaped and is still at large. Police are investigating.
