Rustenburg Police arrest six suspects and confiscate drugs
In a bid to curb the illicit drug trade, police arrested six alleged drug dealers and confiscated drugs with an estimated street value of R8000 in Rustenburg. On Wednesday, 11 June 2014, members of K9 Phokeng embarked on a drug cleanup operation around the Rustenburg Police Cluster. They raided drug dens and other drug- infested areas in Rustenburg Noord, Phokeng, Ledig and Sun City.
They seized 3.3kg of marijuana worth R3300, 28 crack-cocaine tablets and 151 concoction of heroin and dagga commonly known as “nyaope.” Among the suspects, were three females and three males. The suspects are aged between 21and 38. They are due to appear in court soon facing charges varying from possession to dealing in drugs.
