Cuppa for CANSA – “Uit Ouma se Kas”
I visited the Cuppa for CANSA that was held at Casa Bella Venue briefly and was stunned by the large group of ladies that were attending the Ladies tea. All the ladies were dressed fitting according to the theme:”Uit Ouma se Kas”. The whole atmosphere at the event was one of relaxation with the nicely covered tables with the mouthwatering food that waited to be eaten. Everyone was entertained by the beautiful music of Eclips and inspired by the funny and inspiring talk of Hannes van Wyk. Some of the sponsors seen at the event was Clover, Willa Krause and many more. Please support the events of CANSA, for it is for a good cause. You never know when you will be touched somehow by cancer.
Kevin Leo
The following was a letter that Rusties received in connection with the fundraising event organized for Nicoline Oberholzer.
I’m Nico Oberholzer, organizer of the Kevin Leo show and parent of Nicoline Oberholzer, whom I helped with the fundraising for the wheelchair and stand frame. It was for me and my family an outstanding privilege to be involved with the arrangements of Kevin’s Show and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Everything went smoothly according to plan except for the ticket sales that were weaker than we had planned but we had at least 50% of tickets sold through pre-sales and sales at the doors.
Approximately 250 people were at the evening performance which was characterized by comic and serious contributions, and it was the best performance that I and my family has ever attended. Not a hair was out of place throughout the evening and the highlight of the evening was when Kevin called our family on the stage with Nicoline in my arms, the evening closed with “My Way” and the whole audience rose with a hand clap. There was a lump in my throat and I wonder how many others had a lump in their throats.
